The Black Bear by Trevor Swanson. First plate in the Great Bears of the
World Series. Black bears are one of animals that people love to watch.
They all seem to really enjoy life, moving along at a slow and graceful pace,
picking a root here, a berry there and then climbing a tree just to hang around
for awhile. The smaller cousin to Grizzly, these bears are found all over the
North America. Like the Grizzly, the coats of the Black Bear come in
different colors from a lustrous brick red to a light tan. These bears are
sometimes considered the comedians of the bear world and many times I have heard
people remark about how the bears seem to be smiling. Plate #943V.
